The City of Houston will receive more than $61 million in Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) to fund mitigation projects that will lower the risk of impacts from future disasters. The Housing and Community Development department is creating an action plan for how this money will be spent. This action plan is our grant application to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Money for mitigation projects cannot be used for emergency response services. Projects will focus on local and regional mitigation priorities that will have long-lasting effects.
For information on current and proposed projects for CDBG-MIT funds received by the City through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Texas General Land Office.
