City of Houston Municipal Courts Closed Monday July 8, 2024

July 7, 2024 -- Due to the projected impact of Hurricane Beryl, the City of Houston Municipal Courts Department will be CLOSED Monday, July 8, 2024. All normal court operations will resume on Tuesday, July 9, 2024. Case resets will take place in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning Tuesday, July 9, 2024, through Friday, July 12, 2024, until 5 p.m.

Please visit the Municipal Courts’ website at www.houstontx.gov/courts for information on all court locations and hours of operation. It is important to note that if an individual fails to reset their case(s) during the reset period (7/9/2024 through 7/12/2024), an arrest warrant may be issued.

Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, there will be:

  • No Trials by Judge or Jury. Resets will be given in person at all City of Houston court locations beginning Tuesday, July 9, 2024, through Friday, July 12, 2024, until 5 p.m. Scheduled court settings will resume Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
  • No Arraignments. Anyone scheduled for arraignments during this time must come in person Tuesday, July 9, 2024, through Friday, July 12, 2024, to receive a new arraignment date. Scheduled court settings will resume Tuesday, July 12, 2024.
  • No Parking Adjudication Hearings. Hearings will resume Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
  • No Jury Service. Jury service will resume Tuesday, July 9, 2024. You do not need to reschedule your jury service if scheduled during the closure period.
