Update on Incident at 6400 Eastex Freeway September 13, 2007 - Charges have been filed against two suspects wanted in the fatal shooting of a woman at 6400 Eastex Freeway about 10 a.m. on Friday (Sept. 7). The wanted suspects are identified as Charles Scott (b/m, DOB: 8/4/81) and Vernon M. Scott (b/m, DOB: 7/5/83), and are believed to be brothers. Both are charged with capital murder in the 262nd State District Court. A photo of Charles Scott is attached to this news release. HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.E. Elliott and Officer R.A. Swainson reported: The victim, Jane L. Lemoine, 53, of 6400 Eastex Freeway was the manager of a storage facility and lived on the premises. Charles and Vernon Scott entered the office/residence and demanded money. One of the suspects shot Lemoine and then they took cash from the office and stole a 2002 white Dodge Caravan with Texas license plates 349KXR. The vehicle belonged to an individual who had gone to the business to apply for a job. The individual was not harmed. A follow-up investigation identified Charles and Vernon Scott as the suspects in this case. The stolen vehicle has still not been recovered.
