This unit coordinates parades, fun runs, festivals, and civic celebrations. The unit reviews all city permits for functions that involve a city street. They are ultimately in charge of deciding times, routes, and roads to be closed. When you attend a major function such as the Power over Houston or the super Bowl festivities, the entire plan and staffing of the event is the work of this small, but efficient unit.
