Beautification Team

Beautification TeamIn our continuous efforts to enhance the quality of life and environmental health in our district, we are excited to launch a new Illegal Dumping, Graffiti and Litter Abatement initiative. This program represents a collaborative effort to preserve the beauty and safety of our community, tackling the challenges of illegal dumping, litter, and graffiti that detract from our district's appeal.

The initiative is a partnership between our local government and the Gulfton Area Municipal Management District, underpinned by support from the city of Houston’s Solid Waste Department. Together, we are deploying a dedicated Abatement Team tasked with the crucial mission of identifying, cleaning, and preventing the recurrence of illegal dumping sites and graffiti across District J.

Our mission is simple: to restore and maintain the natural and urban beauty of our district, making it a cleaner, safer place for all residents and visitors. By addressing these challenges head-on, we aim to foster a sense of pride in our community, discourage future violations, and promote environmental responsibility.

Residents are encouraged to report areas affected by illegal dumping, litter and graffiti. Your vigilance and participation are key to the program's success. Upon receiving reports, our Illegal Dumping/Graffiti Abatement Team will swiftly respond. The team will assess the situation, clean up, and implement preventive measures to deter future incidents.

Illegal dumping and graffiti not only harm the environment but also impact property values and can lead to increased crime. Through this initiative, we're taking a stand against these blights on our community, working together to ensure our district remains a vibrant, welcoming place for everyone.

If you witness illegal dumping or graffiti, please report it by sending an email to our office at DistrictJ@houstontx.gov. Be sure to add "Beautification Request" in the subject line, and include details of the request such as the location's address and a picture, if possible.
