| Off-duty uniformed officers working extra employment at Highland Village located a suspect inside a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Fort Bend County and was also related to an assault. Uniformed Houston Police Officers came to assist and attempted to perform a felony traffic stop. The suspect refused all commands and remained inside the vehicle for an extended period of time. The officers made a planned and coordinated approach to the vehicle, and according to the officers, the suspect quickly pushed the driver’s door open and extended his arm in a shooting position at the officers. Several officers opened fire, and the suspect was grazed with a bullet. He was then taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment and expected to make a full recovery. |
