HPD patrol officer was driving slowly in his marked patrol vehicle when multiple gunshots were fired at his vehicle, striking the patrol vehicle 2-3 times. Officer observed multiple suspects in a park parallel to his location. Officer observed one of the suspects to have a weapon in his hand and pointed the weapon in his direction. Officer exited his vehicle and returned fire at the suspects possibly striking one of them. The suspects fled the scene. Officer was not injured in the exchange of gunfire.
