Houston Police Department officers were dispatched to a disturbance call. Upon arrival at the scene officers were informed by a witness that a man with a knife had come by and demanded they turn their music off. While speaking with the witness, the suspect returned to the scene. As officers approached the male suspect, they observed him with a knife in his hand. An officer made several attempts to have the suspect drop the knife. The suspect refused to drop the knife and continued to close distance on the officer by walking towards him. The officer discharged his weapon striking the male suspect. Officers then rendered aid until the suspect was transported to Ben Taub Hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
