Houston Police officers were dispatched to a suspicious person with a weapon call in which an individual armed with a pistol was observed attempting to force his way into a residence. Officers arrived and observed the individual outside of the residence in an empty lot armed with a pistol and attempted to give the individual commands. The individual was acting erratic, not obeying commands, and at one point put the firearm to his head. During the encounter, an officer discharged their weapon towards the individual. An autopsy will be completed by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the manner and cause of death.
