Officers arrived on scene and the suspect fired a round at both officers. Fearing for their lives, both officers discharged their duty weapons at the suspect. The suspect then fired a second round while walking toward them. Officers discharged additional rounds at the defendant, striking him two or three times in the torso area. The suspect was taken into surgery, in critical, but stable condition.
