An off-duty Houston Police Department officer was inside his residence when he observed two unknown males running in his backyard towards his storage shed. The officer grabbed his weapon, exited the front door of his residence and walked towards his side gate to enter his backyard. As the officer entered his backyard, he observed the two suspects near his storage shed. The officer confronted the suspects and observed what he thought was a weapon in one of the suspect’s hands. The officer gave the suspects verbal commands but the suspects refused to obey his verbal commands. Fearing for his life, the officer discharged his weapon one time in the direction of the suspects. Both suspects fled on foot and jumped over the back fence of his residence. There is no evidence on scene to show that any person was struck by the gunfire. No one was injured during this incident. Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and conducted an investigation.
