Houston Police Officers were dispatched to the location for two suspects trespassing on private property and threatening a manager at the property with a weapon. HPD officers found the two suspects on the sidewalk along the bayou and attempted to detain them. A female was detained initially, and a male suspect started to approach the officers from several yards away. The male had his hands concealed from view and refused to show his hands when ordered to by the uniformed officers. The officers believed the suspect to be armed. The female suspect pulled away from the officers, which caused herself and an officer to fall to the ground, causing minor injuries to both. The male suspect continued to disobey the officers’ commands and then quickly jumped into a shooting stance, bringing both hands together and pointing them directly at the officers. One officer fired at the suspect, striking him. Both suspects were transported to area hospitals and the male suspect is in stable condition.
