A Houston Police Department officer was conducting a traffic stop, during the traffic stop the officer learned he was wanted for a felony warrant. The officer attempted to make an arrest, the suspect began to flee in his vehicle, during the pursuit the suspect discharged his weapon at the officer and eventually crashed and began evading on foot. The officer located him in a parking lot where the suspect began shooting at him, the officer returned fire. A secondary officer arrived and also began to shoot at the suspect eventually striking him, the suspect was transported to a hospital and is in critical condition.
