Houston Police Department officers were dispatched to a disturbance/CIT. Officers attempted to calm the suspect and detain them for a possible mental health investigation. The suspect refused verbal commands and was acting irate and reaching in his pocket. When back up officers arrived the officers attempted to detain the suspect. The suspect then attacked the officers managing to stab one. Another officer at the scene discharged their duty weapon, striking and killing the suspect. The officer was transported to Memorial Hermann Medical Center in stable condition.
