A uniformed Houston Police Department officer was on his way to work when a road rage incident occurred with the suspects in another vehicle. The suspects in the vehicle brandished a firearm and shot at the officer several times striking him in the shoulder. The officer returned fire at the suspects and they fled the scene. The officer arrived at a police station and was transported to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center where he was treated and is in stable condition. Officers located the suspect vehicle and detained the suspects. One suspect was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The other two suspects were charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
