Houston Police Department officers were dispatched to a suspicious person with a weapon call. Upon arrival, the property manager informed the officers that two individuals, with weapons, were in an apartment that was supposed to be vacant. When the responding officers fully opened the door, they were met by the suspects, one of which was pointing a weapon directly at them. Officers retreated away from the apartment door and repositioned themselves as they gave the suspects commands to surrender. The suspects ignored all commands, and both discharged their weapons at officers. Officers returned fire and one suspect was struck by gunfire and transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. The juvenile female suspect was also transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital for minor injuries.
