January 14, 2025 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 3115 Bay Street about 11 p.m. last Friday (January 3).  

The suspect, Stephon Darial Jackson, 45, is charged with murder in the 337th State District Court.  A booking photo of Jackson is attached to this news release.  

The victim is identified as Stephen Norton, 55.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Castillo and A. Ledford reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the bar at the above address and found an unresponsive male inside the club.  He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Norton, deceased.  

At that time, there was no known suspect description.  

Further investigation identified Jackson as the suspect in this case.  Jackson was arrested on Monday (January 13) by officers from the HPD Northeast Patrol Station.  The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Jackson was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.
