September 26, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a third suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9828 Blackhawk Boulevard about 1:05 p.m. on January 20, 2018.

The suspect, Darius Limar Sonnier, 25, is charged with capital murder in the 180th State District Court. A photo of Sonnier is attached to this news release. 

Two other suspects, Johntiz Robertson, 23, and Reginald Hawkins,22, are charged with capital murder in the in the 263rd and 174th State District Courts, respectively.  Their booking photos are attached to this news release.

All three suspects are charged for their roles in the death of That Huu Le, 75.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Barr and M. Perez reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a grocery store parking lot at the above address.  An investigation revealed two suspects followed Mr. Le to the parking lot where one suspect approached Le as he was exiting his vehicle. A short altercation took place and Le was shot multiple times.  Both suspects then fled in a gold-colored sedan. Paramedics transported Le to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Further investigation identified Hawkins and Robertson as suspects in this case. Hawkins, who was already in custody on an unrelated charge and case, was subsequently charged on June 1, 2018.  Officers arrested Robertson on June 17, 2022, and he was subsequently charged.  

On Wednesday (September 25), Sonnier was identified as a third suspect involved and he was subsequently charged for his role.  Sonnier is currently in federal custody in an unrelated incident. 

One additional, unidentified suspect remains at-large.
