Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 9935 Bissonnet Street
September 25, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 9935 Bissonnet Street about 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday (September 24).
The suspect, Alexus Domique Bonner, 29, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 180th State District Court. A booking photo of Bonner is attached to this news release.
The victim, 40, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives E. Ruiz and N. Aponte reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a person down call near the above address and found a male with an apparent gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital. Officers recovered evidence that identified a possible female suspect.
As officers conducted an investigation, they were informed by South Central Patrol Division officers of a hospital check call where a female stated she was assaulted and admitted to shooting a male at a gas station in Westside Patrol Division's area.
Further investigation identified the female as Bonner, the suspect involved in this shooting incident. Detective obtained a statement from Bonner who, at the time, was hospitalized with a laceration to her head area.
The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Bonner was subsequently charged for her role in the incident. She was then booked into the Harris County Jail.
