September 20, 2024 - Houston police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 9920 Porto Rico Road about 4:30 p.m. on September 27, 2023.  

The suspect is described only as a black male, 17 to 19 years of age.  A surveillance photo of the suspect is attached to this news release.    

The victim has been identified as Alberto Navez-Ortiz,18.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives R. Waterwall and C. Vaughn reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim unresponsive in the driver's seat of a pickup truck.  He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim, later identified as Mr. Navez-Ortiz, deceased.  

According to witnesses, three to four unknown males fled the scene in a gray, four-door sedan of unknown make or model.  

Further investigation identified the male pictured below as a suspect in this case.
