September 3, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 15815 Boonridge Road about 12:10 a.m. on July 26, 2023. 

The suspect, Ricky Lee Garcia, 34, is charged with murder in the 268th State District Court in Fort Bend County.  A Fort Bend County Jail booking photo of Garcia is attached to this news release. 

The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the victim as Tracy Delano Richardson, Jr., 30.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Dudley and Detective A. Hernandez reported:

Officers were dispatched to an assault in-progress call outside a residence at the above address and found the victim lying on the driveway.  It appeared he had suffered a gunshot wound and responding Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the male, later identified as Mr. Richardson, deceased.

At that time, there was no known suspect description or motive in the shooting.  Surveillance photos of a vehicle, believed to be a gray Chevrolet Impala or similar model fleeing the scene, were released to the public on July 26.  

Further investigation identified Garcia as the suspect in this case.  Garcia was arrested on Saturday (August 31) by the HPD Southwest Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team following a family disturbance at another location.
