November 5, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 3300 Holcombe Boulevard about 6:30 p.m. on Monday (November 4).  

The identity of the deceased male, 58, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and Officer N. Luu reported:  

The driver of a black Cadillac SRX was traveling eastbound near the above address, failed to control his speed and left the roadway.  The Cadillac then crossed the median, struck a light pole and a silver Chevrolet HHR traveling westbound in the 3300 block of Old Spanish Trail.  The Cadillac continued traveling south through a parking lot, struck several fences and a power line pole before coming to a stop in a grassy area.  

The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced deceased by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.  

The investigation is continuing.
