May 14, 2024 - Charges have been filed against one suspect arrested and a second suspect is sought in a robberykidnapping investigation at 11607 Northwest Freeway about 8:45 p.m. on March 17.  

The suspect, Yoshua Figueroa, 30, is charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and aggravated kidnapping in the 180th State District Court.  A booking photo of Figueroa is attached to this news release.  

A second suspect, described only as a male in a black "10X" shirt is being sought.  Surveillance photos of the suspect are attached to this news release.  

The victim was transported to an area hospital as a precaution and was treated and released.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detective A. Herrera reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a robbery at a hotel at the above address and were advised by a male that he had been robbed at gunpoint while in his hotel room. The male then told officers his friend went to a gas station to get drinks and had not returned.  A short time after his friend left, the suspects entered the male's room and robbed him.  The male called police to report the robbery as well as his missing friend.  

An initial investigation and evidence from the scene indicated the male was forced into a vehicle at gunpoint.  He was later found safe and was treated at a nearby hospital and released.  

Further investigation identified Figueroa as a suspect in this case.  On April 23. detectives were notified Figueroa was in custody in the Harris County Jail on unrelated charges.  The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and Figueroa was subsequently charged for his role in this incident.  The second unidentified suspect remains at-large.
