May 13, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 1000 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday (May 11).   

The identity of the deceased male, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Kieta reported: 

A black Harley Davidson motorcycle and a black Jeep Cherokee were traveling northbound near the above address when the motorcycle failed to stay in a single lane and struck the Jeep.  The male was ejected from the motorcycle.  The driver of the Jeep stopped and remained at the scene.  

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the male to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

The female driver, 34, of the Jeep was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.  

The investigation is continuing.
