Suspect Arrested, Charged in Shooting at 2605 Reed Road

March 18, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the shooting of a man at 2605 Reed Road about 11:50 a.m. on Saturday (March 16).  

The suspect, Kanye Jermaine Huery-Bennett, 19, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the 262nd State District Court.  A booking photo of Huery-Bennett is attached to this news release.  

The victim, 34, was transported to an area hospital in critical, but stable condition.  

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Detectives J. De La Torre and E. Neal reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to the hospital. 

The suspect, later identified as Huery-Bennett, was arrested and subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.
