March 11, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 6400 Telephone Road about 9 p.m. on Sunday (March 10).

The identity of the deceased male, 62, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer T. Syed reported:

The male was driving a black Ford Fusion eastbound on Santa Fe Drive when he drove through a parking lot and attempted to take a right turn onto Telephone Road.  The male lost control of the vehicle and struck a pole in the median, causing the vehicle to catch on fire.  Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
