June 24, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 5700 Gessner Road about 10 p.m. on Sunday (June 23).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer R. Young reported:

The male was driving a white Dodge 1500 pickup truck at a high rate of speed northbound at the above address when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a median. The impact caused the truck to flip several times and end up in the southbound lanes. The driver was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene. Paramedics transported a female passenger, 44, to an area hospital in critical condition.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The investigation is continuing.
