June 10, 2024 - Houston police are asking for the public's assistance in locating a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a man found at 7250 Bellfort Avenue about 4:15 a.m. on April 18.

The person of interest is identified as Shakisha Jacquial Augustine,40. A photo of Augustine, who is not charged, is attached to this news release.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences has identified the victim as Jimmy Allan Goree, 38.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a call of a deceased person at the above address and found a man unresponsive on the ground near a walking trail. He had suffered at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics pronounced the man, later identified as Mr. Goree, deceased at the scene.

According to witnesses, a vehicle described only as a red, four-door Ford Probe was seen leaving the scene in an unknown direction.

Investigators believe Augustine may have information about this case and would like to speak to her. She is not charged in the incident.
