June 10, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 14155 Fayridge Drive about 4 p.m. on March 31.

The male suspect, 15, has been referred to Harris County Juvenile Probation authorities on a charge of capital murder. Juvenile suspect information and booking photos are not releasable.

The victim is identified as Ivan Ramirez, 42.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Stroble and Detective K. Collier reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Ramirez had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Doctors pronounced Ramirez deceased on April 17.

Witnesses stated Ramirez had confronted a suspect attempting to steal his truck when he was shot.

Further investigation identified the juvenile suspect as the suspect in this case and, on June 6, he was arrested.
