June 10, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 16800 Eastex Freeway (North U.S. Highway 59) about 11:15 p.m. on Saturday (June 8).

The identity of the deceased male, 75, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer T. Johnson reported:

The male was walking in the lanes of the Eastex Freeway when he was struck by a vehicle of unknown make and model. The vehicle did not stop and fled the scene without providing assistance. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

At this time, there is no known vehicle or suspect description.
