June 5, 2024 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and the apparent suicide of a man at 10000 Morocco Road about 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday (June 4).

The identities of the deceased woman, 36, and the male suspect, 35, are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Lieutenant J. Horn and Sergeant C. Ponder reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address and spoke with a witness who stated stated they observed a female walking westbound and pursued by a male armed with a gun. Moments later, multiple gunshots were heard, but there was no witness to the shooting.

Officers searched the area and found an unresponsive woman with multiple gunshot wounds and an unresponsive man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man and woman deceased.

Further investigation and evidence from the scene determined the two individuals had been married and were recently divorced.

The investigation is continuing.
