July 17, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 4521 Kashmere Street about 1:30 p.m. on Monday (July 15).  

The suspect, Darion King, 27, is charged with murder in the 180th State District Court.  A booking photo of King is attached to this news release.  

The identity of the victim, 32, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Brooks and Detective C. Flora reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive woman with multiple gunshot wounds in an apartment she had been visiting.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the woman deceased.  

Later, homicide detectives received information that a male, identified as King, wanted to speak with them regarding what happened.  After obtaining a statement from King, the Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and King was subsequently charged for his role in the shooting.  King was arrested without incident and booked into the Harris County Jail.
