3RD UPDATE: Second Suspect Arrested, Charged in 2022 Fatal Shooting at 8433 Hearth Drive

July 13, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a second suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 8433 Hearth Drive about noon on February 19, 2022.

The suspect, Dylon Reanard Adams, 22, is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court.  A booking photo of Adams is attached to this news release.

The other suspect, Joshua Gerard Jackson, 27, is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court.  He was arrested on July 6, 2022.  His booking photo is also attached to this news release.

Both males are accused in the death of Codie Girouard, 39.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives S. Chettry and D. Glass reported:

Patrol officers responded to a shooting call in a parking lot at the above address and found a man, later identified as Mr. Girouard, with a gunshot wound to the head.  Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Girouard deceased.  

Detectives determined Girouard planned to meet the suspect(s) at the above address.  When the suspect(s) arrived, Girouard approached the vehicle and was immediately shot.  The suspect(s) then fled the scene. 

Surveillance video of the suspect vehicle, a black Nissan Rogue with front end damage, was publicly released on February 23, 2022.  As the investigation continued, detectives identified Jackson as a suspect and he was arrested and subsequently charged.

Further investigation identified Adams as a second suspect.  On Friday (July 12), he was arrested by members of the HPD South Gessner Crime Suppression Team and McKinney Police Department officers, in Houston to assist public safety efforts as our city recovers from Hurricane Beryl.  Adams was charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
