July 9, 2024 - The fatal stabbing of a man at 9560 Deering Drive about 12:35 a.m. on Sunday (July 7) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The deceased male is identified as Wallace Horton, 41.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Lopez and Detective N. Sharp reported:

Officers responded to a report of a male who had been stabbed in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address.  Upon arrival, they located the man and provided first aid to him until he was transported to an area hospital by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The man, identified as Mr. Horton, was pronounced deceased several hours later.

A possible male suspect, 57, was detained at the scene.  After further investigation and consultation with the Harris County District Attorney's Office, it was determined the case will be reviewed by a Harris County grand jury.
