July 8, 2024 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and the wounding of a juvenile male at 9500 North Wayside Drive about 9:15 p.m. on Sunday (July 7).

The identity of the deceased victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Hernandez and J. Diaz reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting call at the above address and were advised two persons had been shot.  One victim was transported to an area hospital by private vehicle where he was pronounced deceased.  The second victim, 16, suffered a non life-threatening and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The suspect(s) fled in an unknown direction.
