July 8, 2024 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman at 351 Wild Wind Lane about 12:10 p.m. on Sunday (July 7).

The suspect, Pedro De La Cruz, 39, is charged with capital murder in the 228th State District Court.  A booking photo of De La Cruz is attached to this news release.

The identities of the two adult victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Persad and Detective L. Gonzales reported:

Officers were dispatched to a shooting call at the residence at the above address and were advised by a witness that a shooting occurred inside the residence.  Officers approached the residence and found two persons unresponsive.  Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victims, a man and a woman, deceased.

The suspect, De La Cruz, was identified as a family member to the victims.  He was taken into custody a short time later at another location and eventually transported to the Harris County Jail.
