July 5, 2024 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 6353 Richmond Avenue about 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday (July 3).

The deceased male is identified as Hunter Davis, 20.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Camacho and M. Castillo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at a residence located at the above address. They found Mr. Davis suffering from a gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department Paramedics transported him to an area hospital where doctors later pronounced him deceased.

Investigators learned there was one person in the room with Davis at the time of the shooting and two others were in the home. Preliminary information indicates Davis was handling a weapon and it went off, striking him. All three other individuals were questioned and released, as the investigation is continuing.
