January 24, 2024 - The fatal shooting of a woman at 12777 Ashford Point Drive about 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday (January 23) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The identity of the woman, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

The female shooter, 19, was not injured in the incident.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives E. Torres and A. Graf reported:  

HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a shooting call at an apartment complex at the above address and found an unresponsive woman with a gunshot wound(s).  Paramedics transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  

The shooter remained at the scene and was questioned by detectives.    

The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and determined the case would be reviewed by a grand jury.
