January 2, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 8710 Richmond Avenue about 6:55 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 1).

The identity of the deceased male, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer J. Rangel reported:

The male was driving a white Kia Forte westbound at the above address when he struck a curb, went onto the sidewalk and then struck a tree and a sign pole.  The impact caused the male to be ejected from the vehicle.  Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

No other persons or vehicles were involved in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
