December 23, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 13500 Westheimer Road about 4 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased female, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Dallas and Officer D. Thompson reported:

The driver of a red Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling westbound on Westheimer at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to maintain a single land and struck the curb, a tree and then a utility pole. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department paramedics.

No other person(s) or vehicles were involved.

The investigation is continuing.
