December 16, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7800 West Fuqua Street about 7:40 p.m. last Friday (December 13).

The identity of the deceased female, 41, is pending verification by the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner's Office.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer S. Bouarar reported:

The female walked into the middle of the intersection near the above address and was lying down in the roadway. The driver of a silver Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on Fondren Road and, as the driver turned left onto West Fuqua, the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The driver remained at the scene.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the female deceased. The female driver, 66, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
