August 26, 2024 - Houston police are investigating the apparent accidental drowning of a juvenile female at 1200 Wilcrest Drive about 4 p.m. on Sunday (August 25).

The identity of the female, 7, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Lamont and Detective A. Herrera reported:

HPD patrol officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a drowning call at a fitness club at the above address. Paramedics transported the female to Texas Children's Hospital West Campus where she was pronounced deceased.

At this time, the investigation into the circumstances of the incident is continuing.
