August 20, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1800 North Highway 59 (North Interstate Highway 59) about 6:35 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, 65, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer R. Saenz reported:

The victim was driving a silver Jeep Commander north on the freeway when he changed lanes and struck two other vehicles. The two other vehicles suffered minor damage and all drivers remained at the scene. The victim got out of his vehicle, stated he didn't feel well and then collapsed. He was transported to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is ongoing and pending the victim's cause of death.
