August 20, 2024 - Houston police re investigating the fatal shooting of a woman and the apparent attempted suicide of a male at 5203 Ridgestone Lane about 4:10 p.m. on Monday (August 19).

The identity of the victim, 44, is pending verification by the Fort Bend County Medical Examiner's Office.

The male suspect, 43, was transported to an area hospital and remains in stable condition.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives P. Michon and C. Davidson reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault-in progress call at a residence at the above address. A family member told officers a man and woman inside the residence needed help.

Officers made entry and found the woman and the suspect in a back bedroom. The woman had suffered multiple gunshot wounds and the suspect had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both were transported via Life Flight helicopter to the hospital where the woman was pronounced deceased.

The suspect was treated and remains hospitalized at this time.

The investigation is continuing.
