August 2, 2024 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found after a fire was extinguished at 9259 Linda Vista Road about 5 a.m. today (August 2).

The identity and cause of death of the man, 66, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Graf II and E. Torres II reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a request for assistance from Houston Fire Department emergency personnel at the above address after a deceased man was found in a burned camper. The homeowner told police the male was a friend he let stay in the camper and did not know how the fire started.

There was no immediate sign of foul play.

The investigation is pending the man's cause of death to be determined by an autopsy.
