April 1, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 200 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 4:35 a.m. today.

The identity of the deceased male, 44, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer R. Saenz reported:

The male, a pedestrian, was on the main lanes of the freeway at the above address when he was struck by a white Chevrolet Impala traveling westbound. Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.

The male driver, 39, of the Impala remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
