April 1, 2024 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7400 Glen Manor Drive about 7:20 p.m. last Friday (March 29).

The deceased male is identified as Derrick Bates, 43.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Sudduth and Officer R. Guzman reported:

Mr. Bates was operating a black Yamaha ATV in ditches and traveling westbound near the above address when he struck a small palm tree near one of the ditches. Bates lost control and crashed the ATV.

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced Bates deceased.

There were no other vehicles involved in this crash.
