September 5, 2023 - Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 14000 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 8:20 a.m. on Saturday (September 2).

The identity of the deceased male, 25, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Alejandro and Officer M. Mathews reported:

The male was driving a black Dodge Ram pickup truck at a high rate of speed southbound on the North Freeway when he lost a tire and struck a concrete barrier on the freeway. The male then lost control of the vehicle, went airborne and struck a concrete pillar under the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane.

The male was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding Houston Fire Department Paramedics. No other persons or vehicles were involved in this crash.

The investigation is continuing.
