September 5, 2023 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a person found at 11614 Southwest Freeway (South Interstate Highway 59) about 4 p.m. last Friday (September 1).

The identity, gender and cause of death of the deceased person are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives M. Barton and A. Ledford reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased person found at the above address. Upon arrival, officers were told a surveyor had been mapping the property and, as part of that effort, looked inside an abandoned camper trailer missing its front side The surveyor discovered human skeletal remains inside the trailer and called 9-1-1.

The remains were in an advanced state of decomposition.

At this time the investigation is pending autopsy results.
