September 25, 2023 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred  at 1900 Holcombe Boulevard about 6:25 p.m. on Saturday (September 23).  

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. James and Officer K. Stanley reported:  

The male was walking northbound in the 6800 block of Staffordshire and, after successfully crossing the eastbound lanes of Holcombe, attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Holcombe.  He was then struck by a gray Chrysler 300 traveling westbound.  The female driver, 42, of the Chrysler then pulled over and waited for police.  

Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.  

The driver of the Chrysler, who was determined not to be impaired, was questioned and released.  

The investigation is continuing.
